Two weeks ago, we officially launched the Oxfordshire Energy Strategy at the Eco Business Centre on the Elmsbrook development in Bicester. Working with partners, the launch was an opportunity to bring together some of the county's most innovative low-carbon organisations and business leaders, to celebrate the launch of the strategy with the government's 'clean growth' priority at its core.
Helping to support the county to play its part in addressing climate change, the strategy challenges Oxfordshire to commit to reducing emissions by 50% (compared with 2008 levels) by 2030 and set a pathway to achieve zero carbon growth by 2050, or sooner.
In our latest vlog, Communications Manager, Rob Panting, discusses how a key priority of the strategy surrounds recognising and prioritising local need for Oxfordshire communities and businesses, bringing major opportunities for technical and industry stakeholders to support a better understanding of culture change approaches to local energy.
