The newly launched Oxfordshire Energy Strategy sets out a framework for the county to be at the forefront of energy innovation to foster clean growth, demonstrating to the UK how we can consume energy more efficiently and harness it for future generations.
There are a series of underpinning priorities of the Energy Strategy, including the need to address climate change, with a commitment to reducing countywide emissions by 50% by 2030 (compared with 2008 levels) to set a pathway to achieve zero carbon growth by 2050 or sooner.
The strategy sets out how this can be implemented by supporting innovative clean generation projects across the county in both urban, rural and growth areas, as well as projects that reduce energy demand for domestic, industrial, and commercial buildings and transport.
