This week (Saturday 30 March- Sunday 7 April) marks English Tourism Week, an opportunity to celebrate the range of iconic tourist attractions within the country, and for us here in Oxfordshire to make the most of our thriving visitor economy within the county.
Oxfordshire is home to a wide range of visitor attractions, from the renowned college buildings in the centre of Oxford, to the globally successful retail offering that is Bicester Village, to Blenheim Palace and the picturesque Cotswolds in the West of the county.
In 2017, visitor spend within the county increased by 6%, with this area of the economy worth £2.17 billion (10% of current GVA), according to a 2018 report commissioned by Experience Oxfordshire.
In our latest vlog, Communications Manager Rob Panting discusses why this is such an important week in the calendar, and how you too can get involved.
