In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), OxLEP has been working with the National Careers Service to create the Oxfordshire Redeployment Service. The service is for all businesses and employers in Oxfordshire who are having to make changes to their workforce as a result of COVID-19.
This service will match those recently made redundant with new work in sectors experiencing a surge in employment demand such as food retail, social care, logistics and distribution.
For businesses that have made, or are needing to make, employees redundant, the service can help ensure a smooth transition for employees into new work.
If businesses are seeking to fill urgent vacancies, the service can help connect them with immediately available individuals.
Maninder Hayre, Head of Delivery for the National Careers Service in the South West and Oxfordshire region said: “Employers are facing unprecedented challenges at this time, from having to make staff redundant to needing to fill urgent vacancies in order to meet current demands.
"The Oxfordshire Redeployment Service will provide them with reassurance and support at this difficult time, helping them both to meet their skills needs and to support employees who are being made redundant into new work.
"The National Careers Service is delighted to be working with OxLEP to bring this vital service to Oxfordshire at this critical time.”
