Representatives from the Greater Thames Valley – including OxLEP – will this week promote the region at the UK’s largest property event, MIPIM UK.
Local Enterprise Partnerships from the Thames Valley – including OxLEP – will highlight the region’s compelling investment proposition at MIPIM UK (18 and 19 October, at Olympia London) showcasing key property assets alongside industry partners.
The delegation – which is being led by UK Property Forums – will promote the economic importance of the region and highlight upcoming regeneration and development schemes.
Whilst at the event, OxLEP representatives will look to attract investors – both nationally and internally – to a variety of opportunities across the county. This includes building on major successes such as; Science Vale UK, the soon to open £440m redevelopment of Westgate Oxford and supporting the opportunities set to emerge through the ever-evolving Oxford-Cambridge corridor.
The Greater Thames Valley has a number of shared attributes that earmark it as a key economic growth hub.
The wider region benefits from outstanding international and local connectivity, a highly-skilled population, outstanding education and research assets and a highly-productive workforce.
The region is an economic powerhouse that provides a significant boost to the UK economy – home to over 250,815 businesses and its GVA (a measure of productivity which assesses the contribution to the economy of each individual producer, industry or sector in the UK) hit £167 billion in 2016/2017.
Nigel Tipple – Chief Executive of OxLEP – said: “It is our role to champion the county’s economic potential and drive dynamic growth. We believe Oxfordshire offers an attractive long-term proposition for investors – both nationally and internationally – and hope to generate strong interest in the county at the event.
“MIPIM UK gives us an excellent platform to promote the variety of investment opportunities available in Oxfordshire.”
Matthew Battle – Managing Director of UK Property Forums – added: “We’re delighted to be showcasing the Greater Thames Valley at MIPIMUK 2017. This is an exciting time for the region and MIPIMUK presents a powerful platform to promote the collective strengths of the region and showcase its incredibly strong offer.”
