In-light of the current Coronavirus outbreak, OxLEP will next week continue its series of digital Q&As, as a panel - made-up of some of the county’s leading business figures - come together to again tackle key themes around the global pandemic.
Over the past two years, OxLEP has hosted numerous business Q&As, covering key economic priorities for the county, such as ‘Productivity’, ‘Placemaking’ and ‘Connectivity’, along with topical areas of discussion including Brexit.
Following-on from the success of these events – that’s helped to bring dozens of Oxfordshire businesses together – the local enterprise partnership have now taken its series of Q&As online, the first of which, ‘Supporting businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic’, aired earlier this week.
The second Q&A session: ‘How can Oxfordshire’s world-class visitor economy recover from the Coronavirus pandemic?’ will be available via OxLEP’s YouTube channel from midday on Thursday 7 May and the organisation is currently welcoming questions from the county’s business community through its social media channels, using the hashtag #OxLEPQandA.
It will again be chaired by former BBC Radio Oxford presenter, Howard Bentham, who will ask a panel of business leaders questions on issues such as; how is the county’s visitor economy currently coping with the current pandemic, what measures are needed to encourage pick-up in the visitor economy post-pandemic and – given that the sector equates to 10% of our county GVA – what can we collectively do to best protect it and help the sector recover.
The Q&A will in-particular review Experience Oxfordshire’s recent impact report, analysing the immediate effect of the pandemic on the county's visitor economy.
The following panel members will take part in the Q&A:
- Hayley Beer-Gamage: Chief Executive – Experience Oxfordshire
- Tagore Ramoutar: Managing Director and Co-Founder – The Oxford Artisan Distillery (TOAD), the current #1 of ‘things to do’ in Oxford on Trip Advisor
- Hedley Swain: Area Director, South East – Arts Council England
