The latest research on Oxfordshire’s innovation ecosystem produced evidence that the next challenge will be to tackle gender diversity to ensure long-term innovation in the region.
Hannah Isabelle Tornow, is undertaking her PhD on gender-inclusive innovation in collaboration with Advanced Oxford to develop policies that will help companies to be more innovative, inclusive and improve the working conditions for their employees. This research project contributes to understanding how the innovation ecosystem works and what can be done to overcome potential barriers to innovation.
Are you, or someone you know, working for a company in the Oxfordshire innovation ecosystem and believe that the innovation ecosystem will flourish with a greater diversity?
To measure the complexity of the different levels where innovation takes place in the innovation ecosystem, she is using surveys on the employee level, interviews on the company level and ethnographic research on the level of the ecosystem.
We hope plenty of you see the importance for equality, diversity and inclusion and the potential it has for innovation and engage in this research initiative.
