Following this morning’s announcement from the Government on a spatial plan framework for the Oxford-Cambridge Arc, that will support the creation of thousands of jobs, drive investment and protect and enhance the environment, Jeremy Long – OxLEP Chair and Chair of the Arc Local Enterprise Partnerships Group – has said the following:
“The framework will provide a launchpad from which we can attract and secure the long-term, joined-up, private and public investment that is needed. We also welcome the Government’s commitment to establish a new growth body.
"The Arc Leadership Group is committed to working jointly with the Government to ensure its creation to focus on promoting the Arc’s economic strengths on a global platform and coordinating major projects to upgrade our business infrastructure aligned to our regional ambitions.”
Today's announcement follows the publication last autumn of The Oxford-Cambridge Arc Economic Prospectus, which outlined the global potential of the region.
