There are currently three business support programmes running in Oxfordshire that have been funded through the European Union - they are:
Elevate
Elevate is a £2m programme to support Oxfordshire’s businesses to start-up and scale-up by offering a comprehensive package of measures.
The Elevate programme includes:
- Network Navigators who represent the key business and industry sectors in Oxfordshire, and are experts in their relevant fields. They can help businesses get connected to other key contacts in various sectors and areas, as well as showing them the support that is available both locally and nationally
- FREE workshops that cover a variety of topics to help businesses start up and grow
- Oxfordshire Business Enterprise (OBE) who offer FREE advice to help businesses start up. They provide advice on a range of business issues including self-employment to forming a company, and from marketing to bookkeeping
- Grants of between £1,000 to £8,000 to pre-start, start up and growing businesses.
Innovation Support for Business (ISfB)
Innovation Support for Business is a £5.2m programme to support innovative Oxfordshire entrepreneurs and businesses by:
- Assisting in developing and commercialising innovations
- Enhancing research and innovation infrastructure in Oxfordshire
- Promoting business investment in research and innovation
- Developing links between businesses and researchers
It will offer a customisable portfolio of help for eligible entrepreneurs, start ups and businesses to encourage innovation, including:
- Go-Create grants
- Innovation support via; coaching and mentoring; workshops, seminars and master classes and access to equipment, expertise and resources
OxFutures
OxFutures is a £3.2m programme to help businesses become more resource efficient. The project focuses on three interlocking strands:
- Oxfordshire Green Tech – a free county-wide network for businesses, developed by bioregional and Cherwell District Council, that will encourage partnership working and for businesses to submit joint bids for funding low carbon projects. It also offers free energy audits to businesses
- Oxfordshire Green Lab – brings Oxfordshire’s world-leading universities and their researchers into collaborations with businesses to develop new thinking around the transition to a smart, clean energy system. This new thinking is then developed into new businesses, products and services
- Oxfordshire GreenFund – provides grant funding to support the implementation of energy saving measures in businesses following their free energy audit; and to bring new businesses, products and services to the market
