This year's Cherwell Business Awards have officially been launched with entries now open, following a presentation and networking event at Norbar Torque Tools last Wednesday (19 April).
Now in its 11th year, the 2023 edition of the awards is set to continue to build on the long-standing success and recognition of celebrating the thriving Cherwell business community, with some fantastic new sponsors and categories, including:
- Apprentice Employer of the Year Award, sponsored by The Engineering Trust
- Town Centre Award, sponsored by Wild Property Consultancy
- Engineering Excellence Award, sponsored by High Spec Composites
The Micro and Small Business categories have also been merged to become the Small Business Award.
Speakers at the launch, included Ian Boll, Executive Director – Communities from Cherwell District Council – this year’s headline sponsor, as well as further sponsors; Sarah Jaycock, Director from High Spec Composites and Niel Wild of Wild Property Consultancy, who shared their experience of the awards.
The 2023 award categories include:
- The Bicester Village – Charity and Community Award
- The Bicester Vision and Wednesday Business Club – Small Business Award
- The Ellacotts – Business Person of the Year Award
- The High Spec Composites – Engineering Excellence Award
- The Kärcher - Young Business person of the Year Award
- The Nicholsons – Sustainable Business Award
- The Oxford Technology Park – Innovation Award
- The OJI Marketing – New Business Award
- The Spratt Endicott Solicitors – Large Business Award
- The Wild Property Consultancy - Town Centre Award
- The Engineering Trust - Apprentice Employer of the Year Award
Plus, the coveted Norbar Overall Cherwell Winner, selected from the finalists of all 11 categories.

The deadline for nominations is 17 May and the application deadline is 31 May. Finalists will be announced in July and winners will be announced at the prestigious Awards Gala Dinner to be held at Chesterton Hotel on 8 September.
