The OxLEP Skills team brings employers and education together by helping to develop a future work force with experience and skills employers need.
Apprenticeships of all levels will be a vital contributor to the economic recovery following COVID-19.
The Education, Skills and Funding Agency (ESFA) has now implemented new measures to ensure that wherever possible apprentices can complete their training. To further facilitate this HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) have stated that apprentices can now be furloughed the same way as other employees. This means that apprentices can continue with off the job training whilst furloughed and so progress with their apprenticeships.
In this vlog, Sally Andreou, Skills Hub Manager discusses the updates on apprenticeships and what the OxLEP Skills team are doing to support employers, providers and learners through the Coronavirus pandemic.
