Just one week to go until the inaugural Oxfordshire Property Festival
Hundreds of people will next week (18 April) gather for Oxfordshire’s first major property and development festival.
Last November, the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) announced it would be partnering with UK Property Forums to create the first-ever property festival within the county.
Next week’s event will centre around two of Oxford’s most-famous locations – the Bodleian Library and Corpus Christi College – and will feature walks, property discussions and debate, awards and music.
It is hoped the Oxfordshire Property Festival will become an annual date for the business and property communities.
The festival will also be an opportunity for delegates to focus on the changing landscape of the Oxfordshire property scene, with key representatives attending from across the sector.
All talks will feature a panel of carefully-selected representatives, each with key roles within the Oxfordshire economy or property scene.
Guests include; OxLEP Chief Executive – Nigel Tipple, Andrew Carter – Chief Executive of Centre for Cities, William Cooper – Partner at Harwell Campus and David Prout – Pro Vice-chancellor of Planning and Resources at University of Oxford.
The new festival’s property walk is set to follow a route across Oxford, viewing major projects – either completed or currently under development – right across the city.
An awards ceremony – hosted by BBC arts editor Will Gompertz – will also commend the best talent within the industry, whilst music from Oxfordshire-based musicians will play a pivotal role in the celebration aspect of the festival.
Nigel Tipple said: “We are delighted to be partnering with UK Property Forums to showcase the world-class investment opportunities that exist across Oxfordshire and celebrate property success within the county at the same time.
“Last autumn, PwC’s ‘Good Growth for Cities’ report announced Oxford as being one of the two highest-performing cities – in relation to growth – anywhere in the UK, reaffirming the idea that Oxfordshire maintains a world-leading economic position.
“It’s great to be a part of the first-ever festival and celebrate this thriving sector and the importance of this within the county.’’
Matthew Battle – Managing Director at UK Property Forums – added: “The Oxfordshire Property Festival is a great opportunity to recognise a diverse range of highly-impressive projects from across the Oxfordshire property market.
“The relationship between the land, growth and design is fascinating – and in many respects, Oxfordshire is at the forefront of this national debate.
“We are really excited to have created an event which brings all parts of the property community together under one umbrella.”
