Oxfordshire’s entrepreneurs and small business owners partake in free online course to kick start their business ideas.
Last month (Monday 15 June), OxLEP Business partnered with the PopUp Business School to provide a five-day online course for Oxfordshire’s business community and budding entrepreneurs.
The course covered key areas of starting your own business; from marketing and utilising social media to building a website alongside taxes and all things legal.
The PopUp Business School has led the way to provide critical support and guidance for our local business community in these unprecedented times.
The course was a huge success with over 100 attendees across the week and a wide range of businesses created, from 1:1 ballet training to furniture being created from recycled materials; demonstrating how diverse and unique the small business landscape is within the Oxfordshire area.
Simon Paine, PopUp Business School co-founder and CEO, stated: “Many of those attending will leave with a business and a first sale. Those who don’t will still take away business skills, practical advice and confidence. We like to say: ‘this is the best business course money can’t buy."
Simon's point was proven with 37% of those who attended trading by the end of the course and a further 24% having made a sale.
