There are at least 400 Apprenticeship vacancies in Oxfordshire, providing valuable opportunities to develop skills and a future in a wide range of careers. However, many Oxfordshire businesses struggle to fill their Apprenticeship opportunities.
That’s why OxLEP have created the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Grant scheme, with the aim to help remove barriers for Oxfordshire residents and encourage them to take up an Apprenticeship.
The grants are available as part of the ‘Social Contract’, a new £1.7million programme of activity, led by OxLEP Skills, to support Oxfordshire residents and businesses impacted most by the pandemic.
It is anticipated that the majority of the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Grants will be in the range of £500 to £1,500, however under certain circumstances grants of up to £3,000 are available.
How can the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Grant Scheme help me?
If you're an apprentice yourself or small business owner in Oxfordshire, you may be eligible for a grant from OxLEP. The Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Grant Scheme provides financial support to help with the costs of delivering an apprenticeship. So, if you're looking to take on an apprentice, or already have an apprentice on board, or are an apprentice who could benefit from this type of support, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this new scheme and see if you could be eligible for a grant - it can make a real difference to the success of an apprentice and as well as to your business!
What can the grant be used for?
The funding can be used for non-statutory items such as travel permits, laptops to aid studies, Ofsted registered childcare, provisional driving licenses and counselling/ mentoring for mental wellbeing.
