The seventh annual Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards will once again shine a spotlight on our county’s apprentices - and the businesses and organisations, training providers and schools that support their journey - recognising the huge contribution they make to our county’s economy at a special awards ceremony on Thursday 18 May 2023 at Williams F1 Conference Centre.
We're delighted to introduce Oxford University Development Ltd as a sponsor of the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards 2023. Oxford University Development is a £4billion joint venture between the University of Oxford and Legal & General Capital.
Here, Sebastian Balcombe, Senior Land and Planning Manager at Oxford University Development, explains why the partnership has chosen to sponsor the Awards and what Apprenticeships mean to them.
Why are you supporting the Oxfordshire Apprenticeship Awards?
Apprenticeships are an important part of ensuring that we support the next generation of talent. By celebrating the good work that’s been done by those on the journey of developing their skills and experience, we’re sending the message that we’re invested in training and development and that we care about the communities in which we work.
Tell us about your organisation’s experience of Apprenticeships
One of our key commitments, as a new joint venture between Legal & General and the University of Oxford, is towards Apprenticeships and training. For all developments we’ll be bringing forward over the coming years, we’ll embed requirements to provide a range of opportunities for local people across a range of professions in real estate and construction, working closely with our delivery partners.
What would you say to anyone thinking about entering or nominating?
Please do! One of the great things about awards like this one is that all nominations are considered. It’s so important that we see a diverse range of entrants across all categories, we’re looking forward to seeing the shortlists.
