As 2022 draws to a close and 2023 begins, OxLEP are encouraging businesses to kick-off their new year by signing-up to a host of workshops – set to take place in January – designed to support companies meet business goals and ambitions.
The Local Enterprise Partnership for Oxfordshire are reaching out to the county’s business community and urging them to take a look and sign-up to a variety of webinars and events, tailored to support organisations at different stages of their respective business journeys.
Around 40 hours-worth of events and webinars are scheduled for next month, with sessions focusing on several key areas including; customer expectations, investor pitching, digital skills and leadership.
And with events taking place both online and in-person, OxLEP hopes to cater for Oxfordshire-based businesses of all sizes and sectors.
Next month’s events follows-on from another busy period for OxLEP, supporting the county’s business community.
Its most-recent impact report showed that between April 2021 and March 2022, OxLEP Business engaged with over 2,500 businesses and provided around 6,000 hours of support, worth an estimated £3.5 million.
In-turn, it’s believed that the support provided helped to safeguard 388 jobs in Oxfordshire that could have otherwise been lost to the local economy.
Helen Brind, Growth Hub Manager at OxLEP, said: “We know that 2023 will likely be a very critical time for many businesses in Oxfordshire and we want to ensure that companies looking to start, grow or evolve are able to ‘hit the ground running’ as soon as we move into the new year.
“We are therefore delighted to be able to announce a range of business support events for January and would really encourage all companies in Oxfordshire to take a look at our schedule.
“We are confident that businesses will discover that we are well-positioned – and have a strong track record – supporting businesses of all shapes and sizes to achieve their respective goals and we are determined to continue this into 2023 and beyond.”
OxLEP has a track record of delivering first-class business support through its workshop and events programmes.
During the last financial year, over 500 businesses benefited from over 70 webinar sessions, with a further 252 ‘power hours’ of one-to-one support also delivered to company leaders.
Topics during ‘power hours’ covered areas such as; developing and recruiting talent, utilising Crowdfunding and supporting businesses to be investment-ready.
Where the upcoming schedule of events and workshops are unable to meet the areas of support required by an interested company, businesses are being encouraged to complete OxLEP’s business support tool.
The support tool – which was completed by 535 businesses between April 2021 and March 2022 – generates a bespoke business action plan for companies, directing them to relevant support and information, helping companies to move business plans and ambitions further forward.
All workshops provided by OxLEP are fully-funded, though some events do require businesses to meet certain eligibility criteria.
