An introduction to Apprenticeships for Oxfordshire Parents and Carers

As parents and carers we know that you are keen to hear about all career options available to your child so that you can support them in their decision making. While we appreciate your child might already know what they are planning to do after school, plans can change and it's always good for them to consider all the options available to them. Apprenticeships have changed significantly over the past few years and there are some brilliant opportunities available for your child that you may not be aware of.
This webinar aims to give you an insight into apprenticeships and the information you need to support your child, who is welcome to attend with you! It will take place during National Apprenticeship Week 2022, which runs from 7th - 13th February, so it's a great time to find out more about apprenticeships!
We will cover:
- The range of apprenticeship roles available
- The different levels of apprenticeships available
- How you find an apprenticeship
- What you need to do to start searching and applying
- How you can support your child throughout the process
Catherine Jones from the Apprenticeship Support & Knowledge for Schools (ASK) programme will give you an overview of apprenticeships. You will also hear from Toni-Ann, an Apprentice with the University of Oxford, who will share her experiences of what it's like to be an apprentice. She will be joined by Helen Johnson, Senior Appointments and Apprenticeship Manager at the University, who will talk about the role of the employer and Ed Collett, Head of Business Development
Abingdon & Witney College, who will explain the role of the training provider.
